Pilates Slide workouts mix Pilates Mat work with sliding work inspired by my years teaching on the megaformer. These classes are low impact but pack a big endurance challenge! Pilates Slide workouts are structured like a continuous flow, but you can always pause the video, taking breaks as needed. You can purchase disc sliders, but it’s not necessary. I use dish towels as sliders on my hardwood floors. Paper plates work on carpet.

Total Body Pilates Slide Classes
Total body Pilates Slide classes target all the major muscle groups. Emphasis varies class to class, but expect a well-rounded workout from all.
Lower Body Focus
These classes are shorter than the total body versions. They target legs and glutes.
Upper Body / Core Focus
These classes are shorter than the total body versions. They target upper body and/or core.
Slider-Only Pilates Slide Classes
For these classes, you’ll just need a set of sliders. If you’re working out on hardwood floors, dish towels work well. Paper plates work as sliders on carpet.
Resistance Band Loop Pilates Slide Classes
We incorporate a resistance band loop into these Pilates Slide workouts. This is the set of bands I use ($10 for a set of five different weights, link is affiliate).
Long Resistance Band Pilates Slide Classes
In these classes, we use a long resistance band. This is the set of TheraBands I use ($14 for a set of three different weights, link is affiliate).
Light Hand Weights Pilates Slide Classes
Light hand weights are used in these classes (1-2 lbs is plenty, 3-5 lbs if advanced). If you don’t have light hand weights, grab soup/bean cans or lacrosse balls.
